The great news that we're going to be parents can be even more surprising when we're told that there are two babies in mum's tummy, not to mention certain specific precautions for this type of pregnancy. We know that each period of pregnancy is unique, and we can't deny that. However, we always have to look at it from the perspective of a pregnancy that requires care.
As always, we went to do more in-depth research on this topic. We realised that there needs to be a whole process of preparation for the arrival of babies. In this way, and as they say, let it happen is not ideal, as it will be more complicated to deal with everything at once.
But how can we best organise all the aspects of our little ones' arrival? We've come up with a few tips that we think are interesting and can help with organisation.
The first tip is to buy some more practical equipment if you don't already have it. For example, a double pram that allows you to carry both babies comfortably at the same time.
The second tip is not to hesitate to ask for help, be it from a nanny, babysitter or even family members, whether it's for a task you need to do or just so you can have your moment at ease. We've already mentioned here that having time for your own care is extremely important and essential.
The third tip might be to get in touch with parents of twins who already have some experience, as they will certainly be able to share their experiences. The number of parents who have already had twins is on the rise, so you'll never be alone on this journey.
Now that we've given you these three tips, we also want to understand this relationship between the little twins a little better. We know that the relationship between siblings is always special, has its own characteristics and develops throughout the brothers and sisters lives. The relationship between twins is special and can be considered incomparable.
When we're talking about twins, their relationship begins long before they interact outside their mother's tummy. This bond is perfectly natural and their closeness is evident in the connection they create from a very early age. In addition, we'll notice that the babies will go through the same stages of development and we'll know that if one wants it, the other will too. Every day will be a game of imitation.
The time they spend together is extremely necessary, so we must ensure that we don't separate them too early. It's something that reassures them and is part of their growth and development. However, not all relationships between twins are idyllic. There may be some sense of overlap between one baby and the other, which we should avoid, as they should be treated as equal individuals.
Speaking of equal individuals, they are two people and not just one. It's natural for them to have their own personality, being unique in their own memories, experiences and secrets. The presence of this sense of individuality is very important in building each twin's identity and being authentic in sharing and opening up to other people.
It's very funny, but we thought it made perfect sense to emphasise the last part of today's post. They are two people and not doubles, they are identical but they are two people who have their own ways of being. Issues such as first names that don't sound similar or issues such as wearing the same clothes and mixing up toys are equally important to avoid. At a later stage, it will also be essential for parents to spend time alone with each of them.
We wanted to bring up this topic today because we believe that motherhood can be and is a real adventure. Now we've discovered that we're having twins, it's going to be even more of a surprise.
