Fairs with Wedoble

Fairs with Wedoble

Today we're back in the great city of New York. If you remember, last fair season was Playtime's first time in the city that never sleeps.

This year we're back for another edition of the combination of Playtime and Kid's Hub, on 27, 28 and 29 July at the Metropolitan Pavilion. It's a venue that's still not very familiar to us, as we're in our second edition. However, we feel that it's a fair that has different aspects to other fairs. As well as the different perspectives and opinions, the atmosphere and the way people look at things is different. We're talking about a city that is very busy, very lively and with a culture that is close to, but at the same time distinct from, those that characterise Portugal and even Europe.

The sense of style is characteristic and distinctive. The preference for certain materials, models and colours varies. We feel that it really is a market that makes a difference, that we have gradually managed to establish some contacts, starting relationships with some retailers and bringing new perspectives to Wedoble, as a way of adapting to yet another place where we are very keen to establish ourselves.

At this fair we realised that tastes are different, as is the approach to the children's fashion industry. Practicality and detail go hand in hand and, in this sense, Wedoble manages to fulfil some requirements, but also to improve other aspects.

In this edition, we were in the same place and were able to understand the dynamics a little better. The feeling of intense and very dynamic days continued to be real. The energy of the city itself also conveys this, the sense of seeing and being seen. It's truly inspiring to come back and bring with us more and more ideas that we believe will add even more value to the work we do on a daily basis.

With this new experience, we want to know if there are any aspects to highlight from this edition. So we asked our Brand Manager to tell us a little about her second experience at Playtime in New York.

It was a second experience with a lot of dynamism, some certainties and uncertainties, which we think comes from the previous edition we attended. We continue to feel a greater decline in the use of warmer materials that are typically used, such as wool or cashmere. Cotton prevails as the material of choice, due to its versatility and the fact that it is associated with greater care when in contact with children's skin. We always try to explain that any material we use is always tested and absolutely safe for babies to use. Overall, we had positive feedback, met new faces and reconnected with people we love and work with.

In this way, we think it's a fair that we're still adapting to, because it's a market that's constantly changing, but we feel we're on the right track, at least in terms of the first steps that we hope many will take in this context.

It was in New York that we ended our itinerary of fairs. We couldn't have closed better with this Playtime fair, which we thank for the experience and for giving us more memories to look back on later. It's undoubtedly a fair we'll want to return to and we're looking forward to putting all the ideas into practice.

New York, I'll see you at the next fair.

What about you? We want to know if anyone has been to these two fairs and if you've had the chance to visit us. What would you like to know more about these fairs? We want to know your opinion.
