The big news this winter was that we had another stop on our international fair itinerary. Our latest destination is none other than New York!
The city that never sleeps welcomes Play Time & Kid's Hub and welcomes us to have the first opportunity to get closer to the people we're working with and present the collection to new eyes on the other side of the world. It makes perfect sense for us, as the United States has been a country we've been increasingly interested in exploring and we've had great feedback. What's more, as a city at the centre of the fashion industry, it could be a great meeting point for some of the faces we love, as well as for meeting new people from all over the world.
To give you a little context, Play Time has teamed up with Kid's Hub in New York for a fair dedicated to children's clothing. It's a space for various brands from different parts of the world to present their different styles. For Wedoble, it was already an event we wanted to attend, and that time has come. We're thrilled to have this opportunity and to explore this American market and beyond a little better.
Well, we realise that we have all the ingredients for a great experience, and it was! But to get a better picture of everything that happened, we asked our Brand Manager to tell us a little about this first experience of the Play Time edition in New York.
The first aspect that stands out is undoubtedly the atmosphere of the fair, which is different, dynamic and intense. We consider these three adjectives to be the most appropriate, because we realised that there was a large movement of people throughout the three days of the fair. We could see that there was a great deal of interest in the products we presented and we could see that there was a difference of opinion regarding the raw materials we use, not only in the autumn/winter season but also in the spring/summer season. The idea that cotton will always be the best material to use for babies and that wool can cause irritation to the baby's skin were quite evident. However, we were able to explain that both options are great and safe for the little one's wardrobe. Cotton is often used for its versatility in making a layered outfit.
The sense of community was also felt. We made contact with several people from the Jewish community and, of course, with many Americans who were curious about what we could bring. Overall, the fair was very productive and a great first-time experience, with first contacts and first conversations. It was interesting to see their point of view on the autumn/winter collection and also to understand how we work with the expected in a new territory that we still want to explore more, such as the United States.
We ended this winter season of international fairs in the best possible way. They are undoubtedly enriching experiences because of the opportunity Wedoble has to present the new autumn/winter 2025 collection to people who are already so dear to us and to new people who are interested in a future collaboration. What's more, it's always great to hear new perspectives and bring new ideas and inspirations with us for future collections.
New York and the Playtime & Kid's Hub will be places we want to visit again and mark our presence. We really enjoyed it and can't wait for the next edition.
We love sharing our experiences of the fairs with you, as it's always an opportunity to give you a little spoiler of what we're preparing for next year's colder days and to update you on some events that you can always visit.
Now, we want to know if any of you have been to any of the fairs and we want to know your opinion and experience.
See you at the next fair.
