Prematurity

In today's post we're going to address a topic that has been a concern for us from an early stage as a children's clothing brand: prematurity.

A baby born before 37 weeks (normal gestation) is considered preterm or premature. Prematurity has several types, which are classified according to the gestational weeks and the baby's weight. It's an extremely important issue and for Wedoble, being able to support and bring comfort and security to new parents was everything we wanted.

Premature babies need different types of care, due to the immaturity of their organs and systems and the fact that they have a different physical appearance, a higher or lower risk of suffering complications and a different chance of survival. They are true survivors whose arrival has been brought forward and will therefore be the first challenge for them and their parents.

We've decided to bring you this topic today because of its importance and because we've started to introduce it as a way of presenting the work we've been doing.

In each collection we create, one of our concerns is to create a theme dedicated to prematurity. Each model is produced in Wholegarment, a complete seamless garment, designed to give baby the greatest comfort and safety. Our mini babies have at their disposal a variety of items that you can include in your wardrobe, in various colours and the size starts precisely at "Premature (44cm)" and will have the other sizes that are already known.

The materials we use are always the softest and most delicate for our little ones. In general, we choose the typical organic cotton, with some fabric details. Everything is thought out in detail, so that nothing is harmful to the little one and so that they are supported from day one of life.

We believe in soft, breathable and delicate clothing for premature babies, which is the perfect combination when we put a jumper, shorties or trousers on our little one. For us, detailed work is essential, from the creation and design of each model, to the choice of the most suitable and certified material and even the production method. In our case, from the outset we have been confident that our Wholegarment production is the perfect way to ensure that a babygrow is without any seams that could jeopardise the baby's well-being. We have total confidence in the models we have created, always with the aim of offering the best quality and safety for parents and baby.

It's extremely gratifying for us to include this age group, which is so delicate and requires even greater care, in our collections. We can highlight the latest theme we've created, which features in our autumn/winter 2023 collection. One of the main objectives was to bring a theme with natural colours that are easy to combine with other themes. In addition, we emphasised the delicacy and softness of each garment, which becomes essential when in contact with baby's skin. The thin, breathable mesh is our ideal choice for newborn babies.

Today, we're also highlighting our theme for the new spring/summer 2024 collection. In this theme, we continue to use organic cotton knitwear as the main character and have added some fabric details. Fabric accents are also featured in each model, without neglecting the softness and comfort that we always want to maintain in each garment we produce. From now on, we'll reveal a little bit more about another theme that we're introducing for the good weather that's to come and that we're sure will be a great companion for spring and summer days.

As a way of introducing the topic of prematurity here on the blog, we're starting by giving you a glimpse of our work and our contribution to premature babies. For us, it wouldn't make sense to leave this phase of growth and development of our little ones behind and we give parents the opportunity to have a whole theme where they can discover different models that are produced and created with the aim of making mini babies and older ones feel comfortable and safe.

Our work doesn't end here, on the contrary, we want to bring more and more opportunities to highlight prematurity, not only by creating our collections, but also by addressing other aspects here on the blog that are entirely linked to this extremely important subject and which, like so many others, should be highlighted and given more opportunities and support to parents and babies going through this premature phase.

Here's a video of our latest work, including some of the guidelines we follow when creating and producing each piece for our mini babies, which will continue to be a regular element in our collections. Here's the video if you want to take a look  https://www.facebook.com/reel/7117277905016804

To the parents, we want to say that your baby is a strong survivor and that this phase will be the start of a memorable journey for your family. As far as we're concerned, you can count on Wedoble, we'll always have our doors open. Oh, and we're very curious to know who has already used some of the clothes from our premature baby themes.

Here on the blog we won't forget, we'll return to this subject, know more about the care and, above all, learn better and be able to come and talk to you, because we want to know your experiences, the different perspectives and what you think has been done in this area of prematurity.

What about you? Do we have anyone on here who has gone through this stage of prematurity? If so, what was your experience like? Did you know about our premature baby theme in each collection? We want to know your opinion
