The life cycle of your piece

The life cycle of your piece

Today we decided to talk about the life cycle of Wedoble's garments.

Creating a garment means giving life to something that will be used by a baby or child in the future. It's important that it has a long life and that it provides comfort and safety for our little ones. In addition, we will always take into consideration the respect we have for each item we create and produce, as this relationship will also be reflected in the way we look after our planet.

First of all, we'd like to introduce this topic by saying that, since our creation, one of our brand's main objectives has always been to be transparent with our consumers and with anyone who joins this community recently.

In this way, it's important for us to explain and make clear to you how our pieces are produced, where they come from and how the whole process that a particular piece goes through is carried out. Nowadays, this sharing of information is crucial.

Sharing the garment's life cycle is a step that makes perfect sense - giving details of the entire process that goes into producing a particular garment and delivering it into your hands, ready for your babies and children to wear.

The life cycle includes several important aspects to bear in mind: the life cycle, the origin, composition and raw materials, other materials we use, care and maintenance and the point of reusing, recycling and adding value to the garment.

In a more detailed sense, the garment's life cycle includes the following information: it mentions the raw material used, the specifics of the buttons and labels used on the garments, the way it is produced (around 70% of our garments are produced using Wholegarment technology), the type of treatment each garment undergoes (washing, use of detergents and how it is ironed) and reminds us that it is a garment that is meant to last and be passed down from generation to generation.

Origin - explains our suppliers, workers and certified organisations in order to guarantee that our entire supply chain respects and promotes human rights, contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals defined by the United Nations.

Composition and raw materials - explains and demonstrates that yarn is the most important material in our production process, as it accounts for 90% of the composition of the garment sold to each customer (the other materials are buttons, clips and other accessories, labels and packaging).

Other materials we use - we have mentioned that the choice of each accessory we use also respects the ecological standards defined within the framework of the certifications applied to each material.

Care and maintenance - of the many tips we've mentioned, one of the main things we want to make clear is that knitted garments have elasticity, so it's important to take them to a low temperature and spin them gently, dry them on a flat surface and place them folded. This will prevent them from becoming damaged and reduce energy consumption.

Reuse, recycle and value - this is an important point that we thought it would make sense to share with you. Wedoble pieces are designed to last, so we recommend that you pass them on from generation to generation, between siblings, cousins, friends... You can also sell your piece second-hand. The second-hand market has grown a lot in recent years and the idea behind this label was to make this process easier. One of the difficulties with second-hand purchases, especially delicate items like ours, is the lack of a composition and maintenance label, which makes it difficult to deal with. This label is designed to always stay with the item, allowing the customer to track it, know its composition and treatment tips for a long time. Wedoble collaborates with some partners in the second-hand market, such as White Stamp, where you can easily add value to your Wedoble piece and give it a new life.

All this information is shared in the digital passport, on each label of each garment. An element that should not be removed and should therefore remain on the garment so that we have all the information about any garment. It's something we've been looking for and working on, so that it's efficient and brings all the information to the people who buy Wedoble. We always want transparency and access to important information, so that there is always comfort and security.

What about you? Have you ever heard of this new idea? If so, what was your experience? We want to know your opinion
