Be Circular

Be Circular

Today, we're back to talking about being sustainable and the practices we should start paying attention to and applying in order to have a more positive impact.

Therefore, when we think of the concepts of linear economy and circular economy, they are the result of work that has been developed through the evolution of knowledge and practices. In addition, the constant innovation that emerges every day provides faster and easier access, and there are no excuses for brands not to work towards a better future.

The linear economy has always been associated with the fashion industry as a system of production - consumption - waste. A characteristic that, over time, has become increasingly unsustainable and has negative consequences for the health of people and the planet. Furthermore, for the brands themselves, the work that is done every day will have consequences for their futures.

The future of this industry lies in bringing in new practices and acquiring new knowledge to deal with this problem, which was once seen as insignificant and is now one of the biggest problems this area faces every day.

So we need to act. Returning to the project of which we are proud ambassadors, KIDS MODAPORTUGAL, which has demonstrated the work that has been done as children's fashion brands that emphasise the need to produce and consume consciously. Sustainability is one of the links between the brands and we preserve this idea in what is presented every season and as brands that always want to take the next step when it comes to dealing with waste.

This is where the circular economy comes in. This new form requires a great deal of collaboration, responsibility and creativity on the part of each brand. It's a daily commitment on the part of Portuguese brands to find circular and inclusive solutions throughout their entire value chain. This holistic vision allows for a positive impact on the environment and on people through a product with great value. What is known as a return to the starting point, in other words, we use resources such as raw materials or water in the production process so that they can then be returned to the planet and waste can be minimised or possibly eliminated.

Including sustainability in our business means ensuring that these practices today will lead to a future with a better quality of life for generations to come. In addition, we can guarantee the longevity of our brands and continue to bring more sustainable, quality and long-lasting garments.

There is an urgent need to make progress in this area, to include new practices and not to neglect work that requires a lot, but which will provide guarantees for everyone's future.

In addition to promoting brands, KIDS MODAPORTUGAL really wants to raise the profile of this issue, demonstrating that sustainability is part of what is Portuguese. Being sustainable is included in the DNA of Portuguese brands, ensuring that local workers, the environment and their business model are developed in decisions that are equally, ethnically and economically viable.

We at Wedoble consider all these aspects to be an essential part of our daily work. This continuous work is fundamental. Being able to contribute to a better world is one of our goals. To this end, we want to ensure that we continue to do what we love best - creating and producing our clothes - and do it in the best way for everyone. This will always be one of our principles, along with the comfort and safety we want our clothes to offer those who wear them.
