An issue that we are very proud of in our brand is Wedoble's relationship with our factory. We are the baby of the company, figuratively and literally (by the clothes we produce). We've been part of our company's history for 20 years now. Having the opportunity to be able to say we have our own factory has its advantages and disadvantages (but we guarantee it's so worth it!).
The advantages are obvious: having access to our production space - knowing when the pieces will be produced, how we are going to plan everything and having control of the whole production process. The disadvantages, may or may not be (we leave it up to you to identify these): we depend on ourselves and on others - whether on the production side (material, techniques, machines available) or waiting for certain items we need for our garments (accessories, zips, buttons and labels), or even yarn (an essential part of our work).
We can add the fact that all this work includes the constant concern for the people we work with and we think about how our company can always have the best conditions, environment and have our people happy.
Another key point for us is sustainability. We are an environmentally friendly brand and much of this is due not only to our ambition to have this recognition but also to the work done (and which continues to be done) over the 43 years of our company's existence.
Our brand is the result of a desire to innovate and develop something that was our own and we could work on our specialty - knitwear. Therefore, our production center is in A.Ferreira & Filhos, S.A.
AFF is a family company, founded in 1980, dedicated to the conception and production of outerwear. Its production is focused on clothing for men, women, children and in blankets and pillows (home textiles). It is located in Caldas de Vizela and has an annual production of 300,000 pieces.
Wedoble was created in 2003, with the goal of evolving and challenging ourselves in a new world - the creation of a brand. Since early on, the fact that the pieces are mostly produced in knitwear, brought us the possibility to be able to evolve and develop our spatiality and, in this way, show that we can work with other sizes and formats of pieces. It has been a journey of much learning, development and progress. We are proud of all the work we have done and to see our brand growing and being, nowadays, recognised.
We are a brand that has its own production facility and this, nowadays, is becoming less and less common. On the other hand, it is something that makes us understand all the processes involved in a brand, from the new idea for a piece, to the way it is produced and until the final product is delivered to the consumers' hands. It is extremely important that we know this path, step by step.
This connection is something that allows us to grow, both Wedoble and A.Ferreira & Filhos, S.A. Both brands grow mutually and we intend it to always be like that. Currently, we can say that Wedoble represents a large part of our company's production. Which makes us think about the growth that our brand has had and how our small project has become something significant and with a lot of value.
