Imagine this idea: the creation of a project about sustainability and concern for our planet. We can add even more information - bring together 8 children's fashion brands, which work and defend environmentally-friendly practices.
This is the general idea of KIDS MODAPORTUGAL. Simple and so important.
The project is part of the "MODAPORTUGAL" brand created by CENIT (Textile Intelligence Centre) in 2017, with the support of ANIVEC (National Association of Clothing and Apparel Industries). MODAPORTUGAL is a transversal brand to several areas of the fashion industry: men, women, children, clothing/production and brand.
KIDS MODAPORTUGAL is an initiative dedicated to children's clothing on the international market, coordinated by CENIT, which aims to promote the Portuguese fashion industry and its brands.
Portugal is recognised for its constant productive work and partnership with several international brands. However, our country started to show a great evolution of industry production for Portuguese designer brands. We can check that many factories have created their own children's clothing brand.
The numerous brands created and produced in Portugal have proven to be a very dynamic sub-sector with a strong and regular presence in the best international fairs of children's fashion - Pitti Bimbo, Playtime, FIMI, CIFF and Indx Kidswear.
This project, in addition to its promoting action, intensifies the importance of sustainability as a goal until 2030. It is important that we take into consideration all the challenges - economic, social and environmental - that our planet faces. The Sustainable Development guide developed by the United Nations (UN) is one of the points in common with all KIDS MODAPORTUGAL brands, so the objective is that these guidelines are achieved by 2030.
This guide consists of 17 SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) that are the product of the work of various governments and citizens of the world to create a global model that has as its objectives - ending poverty, promoting prosperity and well-being for all, protecting the environment and combating climate change. In this way, all KIDS MODAPORTUGAL brands are guided by 3 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) - SDG 7 - accessible and clean energy; SDG 8 - decent work and economic growth; SDG 12 - responsible production and consumption.
It is an initiative that places the concept "Made in Portugal" as a synonym of responsibility. It represents our pride in presenting products made in a country with strong labour legislation and social sustainability. We want to guarantee our workers their rights, social protection, access to health and the inspection of distinct identities. We add the fact that Portuguese companies have been constantly operating towards environmental and economic sustainability. All this work is also recognised by the presence of a qualified workforce and the high quality of our production.
Wedoble is one of the brand ambassadors of this incredible initiative. We did not hesitate in being part of this project, because of its idea, goals and main fundament - our planet. Making the world a more sustainable place, putting into practice simple actions that will be important for our future is essential nowadays.
KIDS MODAPORTUGAL is in line with what we believe, from day one, and is an initiative that represents and elevates even more the Portuguese children's fashion and our national production.
